Rev. Dr. Steven N. Dial, Sr.

ABOUT US
“A Century, Twoscore and Three years for Christ.” In many ways, one hundred forty-three years is not a long period of time. In other ways, it has been a long time since 1873. Many things of tremendous importance have taken place within this space of time.
Rainbow Park Baptist Church has a very rich history. The church started out as Kirkwood Baptist Church and was located at North Howard Street Atlanta, Georgia with seating capacity of 275.
Rainbow Park was selected as our new name since we were located near Rainbow Drive in Decatur. Sunday, February 2, 1969, was a day of great rejoicing when we were able to hold our first service in the new meeting house at 2941 Columbia Drive, Decatur.
Changes in leadership over the years brought many pastors through with different visions. In 2007 Rainbow Park made history when Reverend Steven N. Dial, Sr. became the first African-American Pastor in church history.
